Main Tasks and Responsibilities
To complete the OT process on the Acute Medical Unit, with a complex and varied caseload. You maybe asked to work else where within the Trust and be part of the 7 day service that is in development.
To autonomously complete the OT process with patients including:
o Comprehensive physical and cognitive assessment of needs
o Provide individualised and specialised treatments to patients on your caseload, which will include a variety of physical, cognitive, and psychological conditions.
o Lead and facilitate on patient discharges with arranging package of care, providing equipment and community support.
The OT process includes liaising with relatives, care givers and NOKs, providing updates regarding patients progress and discharge plans.
To plan and implement individual and/or group interventions.
To monitor, evaluate and modify treatment to ensure effectiveness of intervention.
The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.

- Meets essential qualifications
- Previous experience of working in the NHS
- Extensive post-registration experience of O.T.
- Experience and evidence of successfully working within an MDT team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Evidence of understanding of theory and practice delivery of OT on AMU
- Evidence of CARES values
Desirable
- Post graduate courses in relevant fields
- Supervisory experience
- Evidence of training, presentation and facilitation skills
- Evidence of additional responsibilities and leadership skills
- Evidence of good organisational skills and using initiative
- Evidence of resilience and ability to work under pressure
