Nurse Team Leader - SEND Schools

The successful candidate will be working collaboratively with children, families, carers, school staff and the wider multi-disciplinary team within the education setting to ensure a supportive and caring learning environment.

You will be responsible for co-ordinating & leading the nursing team at an allocated school site and provide support to the wider special school nursing team.

You will be passionate about providing compassionate care in a school setting, have excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

You will be responsible for providing advice and support to families and education staff and providing training and competency assessments to education staff.

The role will include teaching/training and supporting the school team in meeting and maintaining the health needs of the children and young people attending school.

This role requires you to be flexible in a constantly changing environment and to respond to emergency needs as they arise.

Qualifications / Training

Essential: - RN Child/RSCN/ LD with specific CYP experience; - Mentor Preparation; - Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience

Desirable: - Management and leadership qualification

Previous Experience

Desirable: - Experience of staff leadership in a community setting

Skills

Desirable: - Ability to lead and manage a team; - Good knowledge of health and safety and risk management
