Across all our services we have an established service model of nurse delivered level three integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health provision. We are looking to recruit a dynamic nurse to join our existing team who provide integrated Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare to a diverse population in Northeast London.
You will be an experienced, motivated and dynamic Sexual and Reproductive Health Nurse who is able to work independently, demonstrating higher level skills for managing patients seeking sexual health and contraceptive care. Key responsibilities include;
- Providing sexual and contraceptive care within a level 3 service. This will include providing LARC, so you will already be competent in the fitting and removal of sub dermal implants and have the underlying knowledge ready to be trained in Intrauterine contraception if not already competent in this.
- Operational co-ordination and management of the clinicso Line management of a team of band 6 and 5 Nurses and band 3 Health Care Support Workers.
- Deputising in the absence of the Lead Nurseo This post is only suitable for nurses able to work independently across the specialityo This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week)

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse (Level 1)
- Educated to 1st degree level
- Teaching Qualification
- Current British Association of Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) STI Intermediate competency
- Current College of Sexual and Reproductive Health (CoSRH) Diploma in Contraception
Desirable
- Current British Association of Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) STI Advanced competency
- Master's degree
- Independent Nurse prescribing course or willing to work towards this.
Experience
Essential
- Experience of assessing, examining, diagnosing and treating patients with sexual health needs at an advanced level
- Experience of independently undertaking consultations with women requiring contraception. Able to discuss all suitable options based on current guidelines and recommendations. Experience of providing a range of suitable contraception based on the women's requirements, preferences, medical and sexual history.
- Experience of working in a senior nursing position within a sexual health and reproductive health setting.
- Evidence of working with staff from different professional disciplines
- Evidence of utilising Evidence-based Practice
- Evidence of Clinical Supervision
- Evidence of practice development
- Evidence of local resolution of complaints
- Participated in clinical audit and research
Desirable
- Experience of managing a team including appraisals, performance, rotas, leave and other human resource issues
- Experience of providing care and treatment to women undergoing termination of pregnancy
- Experience of working in outreach services
- Publication in a relevant field
- Evidence of experience in financial management
- Evidence of managing Human Resource issues
Knowledge
Essential
- Demonstrates an understanding of relevant issues in sexual health services and the government sexual health agenda
- Able to discuss pertinent issues regarding integrated sexual health nursing practice
- Demonstrates an understanding of the concept of clinical and shared governance
- Demonstrates an understanding of quality strategies
- Demonstrates knowledge of patient group directions and integrated care pathways
- Up to date knowledge and experience of TOP/gynaecology/ service provision
- Knowledge and understanding of legal issues in regard to Termination of Pregnancy
