Are you a Registered Adult Nurse or Midwife who is passionate about reproductive healthcare? We are looking for a Nurse or Midwife Practitioner to joi...
- You will work in accordance with NMC guidelines for Professional Practice & the wider regulatory frameworks of the Abortion Act 1967 & Health & Social Care Act as well as BPAS clinical policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the client
understands her options in relation to the pregnancy &, if choosing
termination, meets the ground of the Abortion Act.
- Provide information
on STI Testing, undertake tests and provide results and also discuss, inform
and confirm the clients future choice of contraception.
- Carefully check for
and implement any procedure indicated on client case notes, including
administering medication for Medical Abortion procedures or cervical
preparation.
- Carry out post
treatment check-ups by assessing the physical condition of the client and
discussing any concerns
- Complete relevant
paperwork and in the event of post treatment problems, make arrangements with
the clinic or refer to an NHS agency if necessary.
- To care for and support clients undergoing surgical treatments. This
could include general anaesthetic, conscious sedation or local anaesthetic.
We are also looking for
- Sound & accurate
administrative competence with attention to detail
- Gynecological nursing experience or relevant specialty i.e., sexual
health, contraception
- Venepuncture / cannulation

Salary £39,959 - £46,656 per annum depending on skills and experience - pro rata for part time hours
Hours - Two roles -27.5hrs or 22.5hrs
Shift Pattern The hours will be worked flexibly over Monday to Saturday within the opening hours of the clinic. A rota will be given 4 weeks in advance.

Experience
Essential
- Clinical practice experience of at least 12 months.
- Experience of general nursing or midwifery.
- Experience completing client documentation and working within guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH requirements and infection control
Desirable
- Gynaecological nursing experience or relevant speciality i.e. sexual health, contraception
Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Adult Nurse level 1 / Registered Midwife (practising)
- Active NMC registration and valid PIN
Desirable
- Contraception skills
- Ultrasound scanning skills
