- To assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a defined group of patients for whom you are responsible, under the guidance of senior staff.
- To participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in developing and maintaining a system of family centred care.
- To advise on the promotion of health, recognising the physical, emotional, and social situations that may influence the needs of the mother, baby, and family.
- To take all reasonable measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the babies and their families.
- Where responsible for the custody and administration of drugs, to carry this out according to Wirral University Teaching Hospital Trust Policies and Procedures.
- To participate in Clinical Supervision.
- To participate in effective communication with all staff in matters affecting patient care.
- To provide accurate verbal or written information relating the patient care to other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- To be committed to the communication strategy.

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
Essential: - Current 1st level RSCN/ RN/ Midwife; - Degree in Nursing

- Ability to work under pressure
Desirable: - Neonatal Experience preferred but not essential
