Job description
This post is based on the Maternity Wards at Queens Hospital Burton. The working hours are 7.5 hour shifts covering a 7 day service. Your role will be...
- Ensure that personal privacy, dignity and confidentiality relating to all aspects of the Trust's operations is maintained.
- To participate in Patient Satisfaction Surveys as required.
- To provide a focal point for individual patients in relation to their day to day non-clinical needs.
- Liaise with the Service Provider to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment and that all patients food and beverage requirements are met.
- Liaise with the Lead Sister and Service Provider, to ensure that the day's work is planned in the most appropriate way, in order to deliver a high standard of patient facilities services.
- Undertake the cleaning of medical equipment, and other relevant items as identified.
- Ensure thorough cleanliness standards are met in the ward kitchen in accordance with contractual requirements and Food Hygiene Standards.

Education, Training and Qualifications CPD Requirements:
Essential
- To be able to demonstrate basic numeracy & literacy to read information and test fridge temperatures
- Willing to undertake customer care training
Desirable
- Willing to undertake training in basic food hygiene
Experience & Knowledge
Essential
- Previous housekeeping/cleaning experience
Desirable
- Previous experience of/and or willing to work shifts
- Carry out ward audits, monitoring of quality standards, develop action plan and track progress
Skills and Ability
Essential
- Able to stand for long periods of Time
- Able exert moderate, physical effort for long periods
Desirable
- Computer skills
