Job Summary To help with patient Radiology bookings at various communitydiagnostic sites, monitoring their pathways, referrals, requests,and all coord...

  • To act as point of contact for patients and their representatives who contact the modalities.
  • To help book and arrange for patients to be seen at sites under the Community Diagnostic Community hub and in St George's Radiology.
  • To ensure that the electronic appointment work list is updated and monitored, that all appointments are made within the specific waiting time requirements and that all relevant paperwork is correctly filed and retrieved from all sites where the patients are imaged.
  • To ensure images are on our PACS system when scanned at other sites.
  • To ensure that relevant patient data is recorded accurately in a complete and confidential manner in accordance with Trust policy.
  • The post holder will work closely with the St George's trust Superintendent Radiographers who are liaising with other diagnostic sites to assist with patient pathways and imaging wait times.
  • Post holder will be responsible for checking certain functions (for example renal function), bloods before patient is imaged at specific sites.
  • To supervise Admin Assistants
  • To assist other Modality Coordinators in Radiology if required.

Qualifications and Training

Essential: - Good general education with evidence of literacy, numeracy, and IT competence (e.g., GCSEs or equivalent)

Desirable: - Team Leader qualification or Advanced Administration qualification; - Educated to Diploma or Degree level

Experience

Essential

  • Experience coordinating or managing appointment diaries or service lists.
  • Experience handling patient/customer queries and managing calls professionally
  • Experience working across teams or departments to coordinate services
  • Experience working independently, using initiative and escalating when appropriate

Desirable: - NHS experience; - Experience of working in Radiology; - Experience supporting service improvement (e.g., audits, project input, pathway reviews)

Skills

Essential

  • Proficient use of MS Office (particularly Word, Excel)
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and stay organised under pressure
  • Ability to support meetings or admin tasks such as collating data or producing reports

Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection
  • Familiarity with NHS systems (PAS, EPR, Soliton, iClip, PACS) or equivalent
  • Awareness of NHS access targets (e.g. RTT, cancer pathways)
  • Awareness of patient pathways and coordination needs in a hospital or community setting
