Mental Health Practitioner

• Provide group and one to one interventions for mild to moderate mental health difficulties (e.g., anxiety, low mood).
• Conduct initial assessments, formulate needs, and develop collaborative treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely case notes, ensuring all documentation meets service and professional standards.
• Monitor outcomes and progress, using routine outcome measures to inform ongoing support.
• Work collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals to provide coordinated, strengths-based care.
• Adhere to professional, ethical, and safeguarding guidelines set by relevant regulatory and governing bodies.
• Engage in regular clinical supervision and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Contribute to service development, including attending, multi-disciplinary meetings.
• Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.
• May be required to support less experienced or new members of healthcare staff joining the Team.

Essential

• Core professional qualification relevant to mental health with registration e.g. nursing with specialism in mental health or learning disability nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work. Or
• Qualification as an Education Mental Health Practitioner or Children's Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner with registration (successful completion of NHSE/HEE approved training)

• Evidence of continuing professional development

• Evidence of working in children's mental health service with young people who have experienced a mental health problem, with significant experience of operating in this context
