Provide efficient and effective reception and clerical support to the Practice
Book patients into the computerised appointment system
Issue repeat or pre-arranged prescriptions, sick notes, and completed medical reports
Collect fees for non-NHS services
Maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
Deliver a high standard of customer care
To provide administrative duties
Including but not limited to
Processing
patient registrations
Scanning
and Read Coding incoming correspondence
Navigating
software systems to identify results and support audit trails
Respond
to telephone enquiries, faxes and emails promptly,
Action
outgoing/incoming calls to patients, hospital staff etc.
To provide Receptionist duties including
But not limited to
Booking
in patients on the computerised appointments system
Issuing
(repeat or pre-arranged) prescriptions, sick notes, or completed medical
reports
Collecting
fees for non-NHS work
Answering
all incoming calls in an efficient helpful manner, directing calls to the
appropriate extension quickly and effectively
Dealing
with hospital letters, reports, test results etc, according to protocol
Arranging
home visits and arrange appropriate administration i.e. Notes summary, if
required

Experience
Essential
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) A* - C including English and Maths
- High level of written and oral skills
- High level of computer skills including word processing and spread sheet applications
- Good numeracy, accuracy and literacy skills.
- A positive attitude, committed to excellent customer service
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Proven ability to work well under pressure
- A high regard for confidentiality
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail
- Strong team worker
Desirable
- Working with EMIS Web
- Working in an administrative or receptionist role in a GP Practice or NHS hospital setting
