management/ booking of all appointments
- Liaising
with all patients, visitors, consultants and users of the surgery
- General
administrative duties such as emailing, filing, posting of letters, notes
preparation, prescriptions and daily workload
The Receptionist will provide an efficient and effective service for patients and members of the practice. The post holder will ensure that all patients and visitors are welcomed to the practice in a professional manner whilst adhering to the practice data and confidentiality policy. The Receptionist will provide a comprehensive clerical support service to the management and clinical teams in delivering high quality patient care and making a positive difference to the patient experience.
- Ensuring reception area is neat and tidy
- Diary management/ booking of all appointments
- Liaising with all patients, visitors, consultants and users of the surgery
- General administrative duties such as emailing, filing, posting of letters, notes preparation, prescriptions and daily workload
- Responsible for incoming/outgoing post
- Friendly and knowledgeable patient service of the highest standard
- Greet all patients and create a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere for patients
- Obtain all patient details promptly and accurately and maintain accurate patient registration from database
- Answer all telephone calls promptly
- To chaperone patients during consultation as requested
- Scanning and filing of clinical correspondence
Red Roofs is a long-established town centre training practice with a list size of approximately 13,800. The practice is known for its forward thinking approach to primary care and has a high level of involvement within the PCN and local Federation.
Qualifications
Essential
- A good standard of secondary education with grades A-C in English as a minimum
Experience
Essential
- Good customer service skills.
- Previous experience of reception/administration in the health sector or able to demonstrate transferable skills from other sectors
- Good clear and confident communicator
- Good standard of literacy and IT skills
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritise own workload
Desirable
- Knowledge of EMIS Web and Docman 10
