The Department requires an enthusiastic, self motivated individual to assist in providing an efficient and cost effective materials management service to wards and departments at University Hospitals, Coventry.
Duties of this physically demanding role will include visiting areas, checking and agreeing stock levels and ordering and replenishing stocks. The individual will support all wards clinical and non clinical as well as Receipts and Distribution. The handling and moving of roll cages across the organisation into wards areas is key part of this role and the individual will need to be able to meet the physical and operational demands of the Trust.
- Provide the level of service required by the Trust from the Materials Management function.
- Implement and manage the materials management function at ward / department level, acting as a primary point of contact and attending ward / department meetings when required.
- Undertake weekly ward stock takes, capture requirements using electronic automatic data capture equipment and input data as required on to computerised ordering system.
- Support the expansion of the Materials Management function across the remaining wards and departments within the Trust in accordance with the proposed Materials Management 'roll out' plan

Qualifications
Essential: - oComputer literacy including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. oEducated to GCSE or equivalent standard.
Desirable: - oHandling & Moving Training (with appropriate certification)
Experience
Essential: - oMaterial management experience. oExperience in handling & moving heavy roll - cages & packages.
Desirable: - oExperience of stock control /materials management systems within NHS.
Knowledge
Essential: - oKnowledge of materials management processes & procedures and use of data capture and ordering systems.
Skills and Abilities
Essential
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers & suppliers.
- Ability to analyse data, make decisions and own & resolve problems.
- Skilled in the movement, handling & storage of goods.
- Ability to work on own initiative & to prioritise and organise own workload.
