The post is at Stepping Hill Hospital but you may be asked to work at other sites within the Trust. Experience working in an Acute Hospital maintenance environment would be an advantage, as would familiarity with large commercial/industrial estates. You will be part of a multi trade team delivering a quality service to support patient services within the Trust.

There will be a requirement to work overtime; both rostered and ad-hoc; at short notice as required to meet the needs of the Trust and its healthcare environment. There will also be a need to form part of the on-call response team to assist our out of hours staff where required.

Education & Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised Apprenticeship
  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in Plumbing Studies or equivalent experience
  • Good Education Standard

Desirable

  • HNC/ONC in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering

Knowlege

Essential

  • Able to communicate effectively (written)
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and Risk Management Techniques

Desirable

  • Working Knowledge of Hospital Services

Experience

Essential

  • Relevant Works Maintenance Background
  • Experience of Plant Equipment

Desirable

  • NHS Estates Background
  • Experience of Building Management Systems
  • Relevant Experience in Plumbing Post qualification
