The Estates Department are looking to enhance their maintenance team and would like to add a full time Band 5 Maintenance Electrician to their team of...

You will provide a comprehensive electrical service to all wards and departments in a multi-disciplined environment, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.

You will provide emergency response and undertake on-call duties as part of the on-call team to ensure that emergency repairs occurring out of normal hours are attended to. You must possess a level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent.

Essential

  • Good level of written and verbal English skills
  • Working in a team
  • Capable of Working in a demanding service line
  • Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision
  • Ability to work to deadlines

Qualifications

Essential

  • 18th Edition IEE wiring regulations
  • NVQ 3 in Electrical Installations or BTEC ONC in Electrical Engineering or City and Guilds in Electrical Engineering
  • Time served apprenticeship
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • City & Guilds 2392 Inspection and Testing Certificate

Experience

Essential

  • Post qualification of experience working as an Electrician
  • Broad experience in Electrical services including Electrical Power & lighting, Electrical distribution equipment, Motors, Pumps and controls

Desirable

  • Experience of working on Emergency lighting, Emergency Generators, Nurse Call Systems, Auto door systems, Entry systems
  • Experience of working in an Acute Hospital/Healthcare environment

Knowledge

Desirable

  • Knowledge of various Health & Safety Legislation as applicable to core trade
  • Knowledge of COSHH
