You will be expected to provide cross sectional and non-vascular interventional reporting and support for various MDT's. The post will involve 10-programmed activities of imaging support (7.9 DPAs plus 1.5 SPAs and 0.6 for on-call) and will be expected to take part in the management of the service and attend meetings of the Diagnostic Imaging Directorate, the Medical Staffing Committee, and such other committees you may be appointed to by clinical colleagues.

You may be expected to attend meetings convened by management, which directly affect the work of his/her department. Duties will include all those duties normally expected of a Radiologist in a similar sized Radiology Department in the UK.
The Radiology Directorate comprises Radiology, Neuroradiology, Ultrasound, Vascular (general) Interventional Radiology, Chest Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, including SPECT scanning and Oncological Radiology and Mammography service.
The majority of your time will be spent on clinical duties. In addition, you will be expected to take part in the formal teaching and on-going audit programmes within the directorate as well as a full range of management duties commensurate with this role.

Qualifications
Essential
- Full GMC Registration and License to Practice
- FRCR or equivalent
- CCST in Radiology or eligible registration equivalents
- PLAB or equivalent standards
- CCT within 6 months
- MBBS or equivalent
Desirable: - Higher Degree / PHD / Masters; - Membership of specialist radiological societies
Experience and Skills
Essential
- Wide experience of cross sectional radiology
- Wide experience in Non-Vascular Interventional radiology
- Ability to work and report independently
- Evidence of commitment to audit and improving clinical practice and service development
- Understanding current NHS management systems including clinical Governance and Risk management
- Evidence of participation in and commitment to, teaching.
- The ability to train and supervise junior medical staff and medical students
Desirable
- Proven ability to lead radiology discussion within sub-specialty MDTs
- Experience in additional sub-specialisms
- Attendance at appropriate professional meetings and courses
- Previous participation in a management role

Essential
- Able to communicate and liaise effectively with patients, relatives and with colleagues in all disciplines.
- Written communication in a clear and conscientious manner
- Works well within a multidisciplinary environment
- Proven ability to work as a team player in a multidisciplinary team.
