Lead Practice Nurse

Deliver high-quality patient care across general practice services, including chronic disease management, immunisations, wound care, and health promotion.

Oversee infection prevention and control within the practice.

Develop, implement, and review clinical protocols, pathways, and policies.

Lead or contribute to audits, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance.

Work collaboratively with GPs, healthcare assistants, and other practice staff to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centred care.

Support professional development and training of the nursing team.

Experience

Essential: - Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience, including at least 2 years in primary care.

Desirable: - Leadership or management experience.

Qualifications

Essential: - Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.; - Up-to-date clinical training relevant to general practice.

Desirable: - Postgraduate qualification in long-term condition management or primary care nursing.
