We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Lead General
Practice Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. The role involves
assessing patient needs, supporting treatment delivery, monitoring progress,
and working collaboratively with the wider clinical team to ensure safe and
effective care. The role will include leading an already established team and
support the Practice Manager and Operations Manager to ensure the practice is
up to date with all processes and procedures.

The following are the core responsibilities of the Practice
Nurse in delivering health services. There may be, on occasion, be a
requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such

- Management and supervision of nursing team.
- Lead with Infection Prevention Control (IPC) and work to the
IPC policy supported by Practice Manager
- Consult with patients and their families to undertake
assessments of patient need
- Management of chronic disease
- Cervical Cytology
- Childhood Immunisation
- Administer a range of adult vaccinations
- Organise and support Practice Manager with the flu campaign
- Wound care
- ECGs
- Hypertension management
- Actively participate in achieving QoF and enhanced services
targets and recall demands
- Understand EMIS and EMIS searches
- Participate in practice audit as directed by the Clinical
Lead/Practice Manager
- Support and participate in shared learning within the
practice
- To be an instrumental part of the clinical team, organise
and lead regular nurse meetings
- Keep up to date with NICE guidelines as required
- Develop, review and implement nursing protocols in
conjunction with the partners
Crosby House is a GP training practice in the heart of slough with a population base of 11,500. We are a two partner practice with seven salaried GPs. We look after a diverse population providing a wide variety of pathology.
Experience
Essential
- 3 years post registration experience
- Minimum 2 years working in General Practice
Desirable
- Proven leadership skills
Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse
- Registered Smear taker
- Completed core Immunisation training
Desirable
- Certificates in Chronic Disease Management
- Diabetes Course
- Asthma Course
- COPD Course
