The Lead Nurse at Operose Health will work closely with regional nursing, operational, and GP team members to meet targets and standards within national service frameworks. Responsibilities include providing patient care from initial assessment to diagnosis, treatment, and care evaluation. This role emphasizes safe, clinical decision-making and expertise in patient assessment and diagnostic skills within general practice. The Lead Nurse will collaborate with the general practice team to meet patient needs, support policy delivery, and provide leadership where necessary. In addition, the Lead Nurse will support the Regional Lead Nurse, acting as a deputy when required, ensuring high standards and quality. They will be involved in implementing and monitoring clinical aspects while demonstrating clinical excellence alongside the site clinical lead. The role also includes participation in nursing/ACHP redesign and quality strategies to maintain a high-quality team. Ideal candidates will be UK registered nurses or Registered AHCP with at least 2 years of post-qualified experience, non-medical prescribers, and have extensive primary care health settings and nursing team management experience.

Main Responsibilities: Key duties will include

  • To work closely with the regional nursing, operational and GP team members to ensure all targets are met in line with current guidelines and standards within national service frameworks.
  • You will be acting within your professional boundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. You will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice. Youwill demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process. You will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required. In order to work at this level NMC requirement for advanced practice must be met.
  • In addition to the responsibilities above the post holder will support the Regional Lead Nurse and act as a deputy as required to ensure a high level of quality and standards at all times.Will be involved with the implementation and monitoring of all clinical aspects by demonstrating clinical excellence in conjunction with the site clinical lead and assist with the implementation of any nursing / ACHP redesign and quality strategies to ensure a high quality nursing / AHCP team.

  • First Level UK registered nurse / Registered AHCP with at least 2 years post qualified experience.
  • Non-medical Prescriber.
  • Demonstrates sound evidence of academic links.
  • Extensive clinical experience in Primary Care Health settings and managing nursing teams.
  • Understanding of the Lead Role.
