The role of a Kitchen Assistant / Laundry Assistant at Agincare Homes Holdings involves joining a passionate team to further your career in the health & social care sector. As a member of the Agincare family, you will work in a supportive environment with opportunities for career development and fully funded training up to QCF level 5. The role requires working 30 hours per week with a rotating shift pattern, assisting both in the kitchen and laundry. Key responsibilities include supporting the chef in meal preparation, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with COSHH and health protocols, and providing support and engagement to residents. The position requires a minimum of 12 months right to work in the UK and previous experience in a kitchen setting. What is required from you?

Shift pattern : Week 1Monday - 8-4 laundry
Tuesday - 8-4 laundry
Friday - 8-4 kitchen
Saturday - 8-4 kitchen
Sunday - 8-4 kitchen
Week 2Tuesday - 8-4 laundry
Wednesday - 8-4 laundry
Thursday - 8-4 kitchen
Friday - 8-4 kitchen
A day in the life of a Kitchen Assistant
- Support the chef to create healthy/balanced meals and snacks, and ensuring a good understanding of various dietary requirements and allergens
- Ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen area, with good levels of hygiene particularly in line with COSHH regulations and health and safety protocols.
- Work as a team player, but have the ability to lone work when needed, effectively managing your time.
- Offer support, communication and engagement to the residents.
- Additionally to these tasks you will be required to assist with the laundry
You don't have to have worked in care before, a previous role in a different catering environment is great for someone willing to learn. We'd like you to have some prior knowledge of food safety and COSHH. You will be a caring, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to show empathy to the needs of others.
