ITU Staff Nurse

An Opportunity has arisen for compassionate, dynamic and motivated nurse who is patient focused to join our 8 bedded ITU/HDU here at George Eliot Hospital. The Trust aims to deliver safe, high quality care and ensures a positive patient experience.

As part of our team you will represent the Trust in delivering nursing care in line with the Trust Values and treat all staff/colleagues, patients, families, and visitors with respect and dignity. Working under the direction of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, you will provide and maintain effective clinical assessment to ensure that patient care is planned and evaluated.

The successful candidate will benefit from an orientation and induction programme run by our Critical Care Educator. Staff follow an education pathway, which is competency based (using the Critical Care national competency framework) and will have the opportunity to undertake a Critical Care course in conjunction with a University. Our unit is exciting and supportive where you will have the opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled, dynamic and friendly team.

Qualification

Essential: - RGN; - Degree

Experience and Knowledge

Essential: - Experience in an acute Trust; - Ability to recognise patient deterioration; - Ability to deal with emergency situations; - Patient safety

Desirable: - Previous ITU experience

Skills and Abilities

Essential: - Excellent communication skills; - Ability to have positive working relationships; - Proven organisational skills; - Can demonstrate compassion

Personal Qualities

Essential: - Able to work under pressure; - Ability to motivate; - Ability to support staff in stressful situations
