- Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and interventions for adults within the stroke rehabilitation pathway.

The Specialist Physiotherapist (Band 6) will provide physiotherapy services within the inpatient specialist stroke rehabilitation pathway at Haywood Hospital, with some work across community and outpatient settings. The role involves assessing and managing complex therapeutic needs, developing and implementing care plans, and supporting timely hospital discharges. The post holder will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and promote independence

- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and discharge planning.
- Provide clinical supervision, training, and leadership to junior staff and students.
- Maintain accurate records and uphold professional standards in line with HCPC and CSP guidelines.
- Contribute to service development, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support the emotional needs of patients and carers, offering reassurance and empathy.

Qualifications
Essential: - Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.; - Registration with HCPC
Desirable: - Experience / relevant training in Stroke

- Previous experience of working within the NHS as a Physiotherapist
- Relevant experience to the role including assessment and management of various conditions within the area of clinical speciality.
- Working in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage time and caseload effectively.
Desirable
- Experience of negotiation and conflict management in clinical situations.
- Experience of risk management including risk assessment, action planning & evaluation
Skills
Essential
- Evidence of specialist clinical knowledge relevant to the post.
- Understanding of Information Governance, Data Protection, HCPC /CSP standards and Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults/Children. Awareness of relevant NSF's and NICE guidance.
Desirable: - Advanced skills / training / knowledge
