These roles are based within the Business Intelligence Unit at Gloucestershire Hospitals Foundation Trust. The ideal candidates will have strong analytical capabilities, along with the ability to effectively communicate and present complex information to a range of different stakeholders. The candidate will need to be able to work under pressure and be able to prioritise their own workload when there are conflicting deadlines.
We are therefore looking for analysts who have a drive and passion for delivering an exemplar BI service. Individuals who are both forward thinking and solutions orientated.
- Responsible for the development, preparation, validation and submission of high-quality information reports to non-negotiable deadlines which reflect contracting, performance and operational issues and identify where action may be required. Identify and highlight any areas of concern with regard to data quality and accuracy and undertaking appropriate action as required.
- Responsible for high level analysis, interpretation, synthesis and presentation of information reports for identified specialties to ensure managers are advised of any potential problem areas; the information to be presented in a clear and concise manner, and where appropriate to recommend solutions.
- Participate in discussions, explaining complex and sensitive information to clinical and non-clinical staff in situations where the information may be contentious and open to different interpretations.
- To provide technical resilience within the team to support business continuity at times of staff absence and / or high workload pressure.
- To maintain appropriate documentation of all procedures adequate for the purposes of internal validation and external audit.
- Contribute to development and design of internal reports. Such reports to be relevant, produced to deadlines, and to support the Trust in meeting its objectives.
- Understand and interpret adhoc/freedom of information requests and respond appropriately to tight deadlines. This entails the analysis, investigation and resolution of complex information issues.
- Provision of information for auditing purposes.
- Provide statutory reporting and returns both nationally and for internal stakeholders.
- Identify and highlight any areas of concern regarding data quality and accuracy and undertake appropriate action as required.

Through operational intelligence, benchmarking activities, and strategic support for the Trust's savings plans, the team ensures data-driven decision-making that enhances efficiency and effectiveness across the organisation. As part of the Information Management and Technology (IM&T) Directorate within the Corporate Division, Business Intelligence is central to shaping the Trust's operational and clinical strategies.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Demonstration of working with complex information
- Experience using Excel
- Problem solving/analytical mindset
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent education level
Desirable: - Knowledge of SQL; - Knowledge/research of Data Quality; - Knowledge/research of data dictionary
