This role involves providing a high quality, patient focused, efficient and complete administrative to the Multidisciplinary team within the Thoracic and Ambulatory Directorate. There will be particular responsibility to proactively monitor and track patient pathways in order to ensure that patient journeys are processed in a timely and efficient manner in line with nationally and locally defined targets. The post holder will liaise with senior clinical and non-clinical staff both internally and externally.

The post holder will need to prioritise tasks to provide a patient focused, high quality, efficient and complete administrative support service.

There is a need to work as an effective team member to deliver a high-quality administration support.

The post holder will need to provide a co-ordinated but flexible approach to the organisation of patient's electronic notes, letters, referrals, and documentation.

The post involves working within a multi-disciplinary team including clinicians, managers, and other administrative staff in a professional manner in written, verbal, and electronic formats.

Calling patients to prompt blood test for re-prescribing of antifibrotics

Monitoring and triaging of Nurses generic email inbox

Chasing of vital checks such as blood and liver function monitoring

Coordinate Virtual clinics.

Monitoring of the PIFU (Patient initiated Follow Up) Access plan list

Cross covering when required within the wider ILD admin team.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Administrative qualification at Level 3 such as NVQ or BTEC, or equivalent experience
  • English & Maths to GCSE standard

Desirable

  • European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)/equivalent qualification or experience

Essential

  • Previous experience of using Microsoft Office Applications
  • Previous experience of working in an office environment
  • The ability to communicate basic or sensitive information to colleagues, patients, and relatives
  • The ability to pay close attention to detail in written and electronic communication and information storage
  • The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality administrative support
  • Able to organise, prioritise and adjust own workload in relation to the priorities of the department
  • The ability to make changes to own practice and offer suggestions for improving services
  • Demonstrates personal duty of care in relation to the safe use of equipment and other resources
  • Maintains the quality in own work and encourages others to do
  • Ability to work freely and independently to negotiate and book patient admissions/ appointments
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to treat all employee and other hospital information confidentially
  • Recognition of factors in maintaining own and others health, safety and security
  • Supportive of equality and values diversity
  • To be able to sit for long periods of time in a Call Centre setting with VDU + headphones

Desirable

  • Previous experience in minute taking
  • Previous experience of working in the NHS
  • Previous experience of using Medical Terminology
