As HR Administrator you will work autonomously and be the first point of contact to provide timely, accurate and practical HR advice and guidance to managers and employees. You will support Managers with a range of employee relations matters as well as recruitment and induction, preparation of employee Personal Files, absence management and disciplinary and grievance procedures.
Although a new role, it will, in some part, be replacing the retiring HR & Development Manager.

Burnley Group Practice is a large training Practice with approximately 60 employees across both clinical and non-clinical roles. We value our staff and promote team work at all times and work hard to maintain excellent staff relations at all levels.
We have clear established HR policies and procedures already in place and a workforce used to having daily HR support. We also have a clear organisational and line management structure and a dedicated Staff Lead Partner who champions HR and staff welfare.
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR
- Up-to-date knowledge of Employment Legislation
- Ability to prioritise workload and good time management
- Able to cope with the stress and pressures of the role
Desirable: - -Knowledge of Bright HR staff systems
Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to a high standard
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent relevant HR qualification, or demonstrable equivalent experience working at an appropriate level within HR
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Evidence of maintaining up-to-date knowledge of HR and employment practices
Desirable
- Chartered Member or Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)
- CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent postgraduate HR qualification
- Evidence of qualification or training in employment law
- Evidence of qualification or training in governance, compliance, audit or risk management
- Management or leadership qualification
Experience
Essential
- Significant experience working in a generalist HR role providing practical advice and guidance to managers and employees
- Experience of managing or supporting a wide range of employee relation matters including sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance
- Experience of developing, reviewing and implementing HR policies and procedures
- Experience of advising managers on the practical application of HR policies and procedures
- Experience developing and implementing actions plans arising from audits, reviews or compliance gaps
- Experience of supporting recruitment, pre-employment checks, induction and probation processes
- Experience of working independently, managing competing priorities and taking responsibility for work through to completion
- Experience of handling confidential and sensitive employee information appropriately
- Experience of working with external HR, employment law or legal advisers where specialist advice is required.
Desirable
- Previous HR or workforce management experience with NHS general practice, primary care or the wider NHS
- Experience of working within another regulated health or social care environment
- Experience or CQC requirements particularly relating to workforce governance and the management of staff
- Experience of monitoring mandatory and statutory training compliance
- Experience of working with multidisciplinary teams comprising both clinical and non-clinical staff
- Experience of undertaking HR, workforce or compliance audits and presenting findings to senior managers.
