You'll work with people experiencing substance use problems across Accident and Emergency and inpatient wards, providing: Advice, information and brief interventions Assessments of risk and need Support to engage with specialist substance misuse treatment Practical, person-centred interventions that encourage positive change Collaborative working with hospital colleagues and wider services.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your experience and career within the substance misuse field, which is experiencing significant growth and development.
To engage people with substance misuse problems to enter treatment services. To provide advice, assessment and brief interventions along with some structured key working and make onward referrals to specialist services.

Qualifications
Essential
- You should have relevant experience in the substance misuse field and hold a relevant qualification, such as:
- A degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or a related subject or
- Diploma in Adult Care or equivalent
- Level 3 Tackling Substance Misuse qualification or equivalent
- Newly qualified Social Workers are welcome to apply we support the ASYE programme.
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working within substance misuse services
- Experience of key working and psychological/psychosocial interventions
- Experience of substance misuse treatment approaches
- Experience of providing brief interventions
- Experience of undertaking assessments of need and risk
- Experience of providing harm reduction advice
