HIV Nurse

Provide high-quality, patient-centred care for people living with HIV, including clinical assessments, monitoring, and treatment support.

Support patients with medication management, health promotion, and self-care.

Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and holistic care.

Manage urgent clinical queries, triaging and escalating appropriately.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with Trust standards.

Contribute to safeguarding assessments and escalate concerns as required.

Support delivery of national HIV care standards, including monitoring schedules and recall systems.

Oversee vaccination and injectable treatment clinics, ensuring safe monitoring and follow-up.

Supervise the bloods clinic, ensuring safe phlebotomy practice and efficient sample processing.

Support outreach clinic activities.

Participate in service development, quality improvement, and audit activities.

Engage in ongoing professional development to build specialist HIV and sexual health skills.

The Band 5 HIV Nurse provides safe, personcentred care to people living with HIV. The role includes carrying out clinical assessments, supporting treatment adherence, promoting selfcare, and working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care. You will manage urgent queries, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to safeguarding processes.

You will oversee the vaccine clinics, supervise the bloods clinic, and support home visits and outreach clinics to improve engagement and continuity of care. The post also involves contributing to service development, quality improvement, and ongoing professional training to develop specialist HIV and sexual health skills.
