UCLH is creating a new post that sits across two connected programmes: the UK Dementia Trials Network (UKDTN) and UCLH's Clinical Trials and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products service. You'll split your time between national work with UKDTN, helping dementia trial sites across the UK get up and running, and specialist pharmacy input into UCLH's own clinical trials and ATMPs.

Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential
- Masters degree MPharm (or equivalent).
- Registered Pharmacist GPhC
- Specialist competencies in area relevant to practice or relevant short courses taught at postgraduate level
- Successful completion of short courses to the equivalent of a postgraduate certificate
- Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or Pharmacy Practice
- MSc or PhD in relevant Pharmaceutical Science
Experience
Essential
- Experience providing highly specialised pharmaceutical expertise in clinical trials, investigational product governance, ATMPs, QA, regulatory compliance or equivalent advanced practice.
- Experience supporting early-phase or complex clinical trial delivery, including interpretation of formulation, stability or investigational product documentation for implementation across multiple sites or organisations.
- Experience contributing specialist input to complex protocol, guideline or pathway development across multiple stakeholders or organisations.
- Experience delivering specialist training to pharmacists, clinicians or multidisciplinary teams, including postgraduate-level teaching or capability-building.
- Experience working within complex governance, regulatory or quality systems (e.g., GxP, QMS, deviation/CAPA systems, inspection readiness).
- Experience leading or coordinating complex projects or programmes involving multiple stakeholders, services or organisations.
- Experience engaging with national or regional networks, working groups or professional bodies relevant to clinical trials, ATMPs or advanced pharmacy practice.
- Demonstrable experience applying advanced analytical judgement to resolve highly complex pharmaceutical, regulatory or operational issues.
- Experience engaging with national or regional research infrastructures (e.g., NIHR networks, UKDTN, or equivalent), contributing to consistent, high quality trial delivery.
- Demonstration of majority of competencies at mastery level in the RPS Advanced Practice Framework clusters: Expert Professional Practice, Building Working Relationships and Leadership.
- Able to demonstrate prioritisation and time management skills
- Experience supporting inspection readiness (MHRA/FDA) or contributing to regulatory submissions.
- Experience contributing to service development or transformation at Trust, regional or national level.
- Experience applying highly developed technical skills requiring precision and accuracy, including handling investigational products or advanced therapies where fine manipulation is required.
Desirable
- Experience of supervising others, including for research and audit projects
- Experience of practice research or audit
- Experience of managing others
- Experience of education and training at post graduate level
- Recognition as an advanced practitioner in CTIMPs, ATMPs, QA or clinical trials through presentation, contribution to national workstreams or dissemination of best practice.

- Ability to lead short- and long-term programmes of change, including stakeholder engagement, planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Ability to use specialist digital systems (e.g., electronic worksheet systems, QMS, deviation systems) and general IT tools (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, maintaining accuracy and concentration during prolonged periods of complex work.
- Ability to work effectively in environments involving occasional distressing or emotionally challenging circumstances, such as dementia research or advanced therapy settings.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in environments involving occasional unpleasant working conditions, such as aseptic units or investigational product handling areas.
- Demonstrates awareness of and commitment to the Trust clinical governance agenda
- Understands national and local priorities

- Ability to influence decision-making at senior levels across multidisciplinary teams, Trust committees and national working groups.
- Ability to present complex technical, regulatory or operational information clearly to local, regional and national audiences.
