As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Deliver exceptional care to patients, both in the healthcare department and on the wings
- Facilitate clinics, including bloods, observations (obs), ECGs, NHS Health checks etc
- Be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages
- Support the nursing team with all aspects of care
- Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required
- Support receptions (new patients entering the prison) and assist with triaging new patients

We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Foston Hall a women's closed prison in Foston, Derbyshire.
We are recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant to support the wider healthcare team. Salary
This is a full time position and the you will receive a salary of up to £29,723 per annum
Hours This role involves working a rotational pattern of day and night shifts. Day Shifts: 07:00 - 20:00 Night Shifts: 19:45 - 07:15 The post requires flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays, and both day and night shifts as part of a 24/7 healthcare service within the prison. Our new Healthcare Assistant will
- Ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or Care Certificate
- Have experience within phlebotomy - this is highly desirable!
- Have experience in a clinical care setting previously - ideally from a hospital or prison setting
- Have clinical experience - venepuncture, ECGs etc
- Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
