Healthcare Assistant – Swindon

Location: Swindon, Wiltshire Salary: £16 - £18.50 per hour Job type: Temporary Shifts: Days, evenings, nights and weekends available

About the role We are currently recruiting compassionate, reliable and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to work across Swindon. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care to patients and service users in a range of settings, including care homes, residential services, supported-living environments and community-based services. This is a rewarding opportunity for experienced care professionals who are passionate about supporting others and making a positive difference in their daily lives.

Key responsibilities Your duties may include

Supporting individuals with personal care, including washing, dressing and toiletingAssisting with mobility, transfers and repositioningSupporting service users with meals, hydration and daily activitiesProviding companionship, reassurance and emotional supportMonitoring and reporting changes in a service user’s health or wellbeingMaintaining accurate care records and daily notesSupporting individuals to retain their independenceFollowing individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding proceduresMaintaining dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all timesWorking closely with nurses, care teams, families and other healthcare professionalsSupporting with medication where appropriately trained and authorised

Requirements Applicants should have

Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant or Support WorkerA compassionate, patient and respectful approachStrong communication and interpersonal skillsThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamReliability, flexibility and good time-management skillsAn understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and person-centred careThe right to work in the UK A relevant qualification, such as an NVQ or QCF in Health and Social Care, is desirable but not essential. A full UK driving licence may be beneficial for some assignments but is not always required. Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate pre-employment checks, including references and an enhanced DBS check.
