Our Wimbledon Park surgery is a supportive, friendly practice, and we are looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join us two days a week: ...

Provide safe, efficient clinical and administrative support within the Practice, including phlebotomy, NHS Health Checks, routine observations, 24hr BP monitoring, ECGs, urine testing, basic wound care, adult vaccinations, B12 injections, chaperoning, and clinical stock management. Work effectively within the multidisciplinary team and maintain accurate clinical records.

  • Phlebotomy and specimen preparation
  • NHS Health Checks
  • Routine observations
  • 24hr BP monitoring
  • Clinical measurements (BP, pulse, height, weight, BMI)
  • ECGs
  • Urine testing
  • Basic wound care and clip/suture removal
  • B12 injections
  • Adult vaccinations (flu/pneumo)
  • Act as chaperone and support minor procedures
  • Maintain accurate clinical records
  • Stock ordering, rotation and restocking of clinical areas
  • Contact patients for recalls and health promotion activities
  • Work effectively within the multidisciplinary team and follow all Practice policies

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good communication and basic IT skills
  • Ability to follow clinical protocols and work safely within scope
  • Experience in a patientfacing role
  • Phlebotomy training and competency

Desirable

  • GCSE English & Maths (Grade A to C / 4 to 9)
  • Care Certification
  • Experience in primary care or GP settings
  • Training in ECGs, BP monitoring, wound care or vaccinations
  • Familiarity with EMIS or other clinical systems
