Healthcare Assistant (HCA) - Lister House, Wiveliscombe - Taunton

Working under the direct

supervision of the Lead Nurse / Practice Nurse and strictly in accordance with

specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will

assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed

programmes of patient care.

An understanding, acceptance and

adherence to the need for strict confidentiality is essential.

As a Symphony HCA, your main duties and responsibilities will include:

ECG

To undertake Doppler testing

HBPM in accordance with practice policy

for patients with chronic diseases

patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of

minor operations, coils and implants

Help to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted

Qualifications

Essential: - English & Maths GCSE (or equivalent); - NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care; - Care Certificate

Desirable: - HCA Training

Knowledge and skills

Essential: - Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills

Desirable: - Previous experience using EMIS web

Experience

Essential: - Previous experience of working as a HCA or equivalent

Desirable: - Previous experience of working in Primary Care/ or similar NHS setting
