The role includes delivering care to young people both individually and in groups, in various locations including a young person's home and via digital media. The post holder will be expected to work within this complex and variable setting, without direct supervision, but reporting to and in collaboration with senior colleagues, to deliver a high standard of evidence-based care and treatment to maximise each young person's individual potential.

We're an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people's physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.

We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 10 community hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work and a great partner.
Approximately 568,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience
Essential
- NVQ 3 or equivalent experience in a range of subjects relevant to the post
- Experience of forming positive therapeutic relationships with service users and carers whilst maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Ability to work alongside other agencies for the benefit of children young people and their families.
- Complete physical health observations on children.
Desirable: - A basic understanding of current National Guidelines and Mental Health Act/ Mental Health Capacity Act requirements.
Knowledge and abilities
Desirable: - Knowledge of the affects of mental health or learning disability issues on children and young people.
