If you regard yourself as an enthusiastic and dynamic qualified health visitor then you may be suitable to join our forward thinking, vibrant team of health visitors in Reading.Whether you are an experienced health visitor or have only just receivedyour qualification, we will ensure you receive devoted,effective support from both your health visiting line manager and colleagues within your team.
You will work within the Reading area to deliver core and targeted services to children aged 0-5 and their families.You will requireexcellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work in partnership with other teams and agencies, along withgreat communication skills and a passion for working with children and families.
A commitment to team working, flexibility and working with partners is essential, as you will collaborate with Children'sCentre'sin the implementation of the Healthy ChildProgrammeunderpinned by the Solihull Approach model of working.
Some of the general responsibilities include
- Develop and implement outcome focused care plans and evaluate care given, in partnership with clients.
- Provide support to families using the Solihull approach model in behaviour management, parentingskillsand delivering programmes of care to vulnerable families.
- Develop andfacilitateHealth Visitingdrop inclinics, health promotionactivitiesand groups.

Education/Qualifications/Training
Essential
- Registered Public Health Nurse (Health Visiting) active on the NMC register
- Non-medical prescriber
- Evidence of continual professional development
Previous Experience
Essential
- Experience in management of cases where a child has a protection plan
- Leadership experience
- Experience of interagency working
- Experience of community clinics
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Essential
- High standard of clinical work
- Knowledge of Child Protection policies and procedures
- Knowledge of the Healthy Child programme
- Understanding of current relevant legislation and recommendations
- Excellent record keeping skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Diversity and inclusion awareness
- Reflective and innovative practitioner Ability to delegate appropriately
- Ability to be flexible and respond to service needs quickly
- Good IT skills
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
Desirable
- Previous experience of working in a Health Visiting Team
- Demonstrates Leadership skills
Additional Requirements
Essential
- Car Driver who holds full driving licence
- The post requires a degree of agility and the ability to carry/manoeuvre light to moderate loads
