Job description

To undertake a range of duties including direct care working in support of and supervised by a trained nurse.

At all times treat patients, service users, families, visitors and colleagues with dignity and respect, delivering compassionate care. Exercising discretion and behaving in a manner consistent with Airedale NHS Trust Right Care Values Maintain confidentiality

Work in line within Trust Policies

Assist in the ordering and serving meals

Keeping the ward clean and tidy

Undertake tasks appropriate to the clinical environment with necessary training and as directed by the ward sister or department lead

Trolleys made and changed in a timely manner

Report any incidents, complaints , concerns to the Nurse in Charge

Attend and participate in ward meetings

Recognise and Respond to emergency and urgent situations

Attributes, Qualifications and Professional Training

Essential

  • Possess or willing to work towards Care certificate
  • Be able to demonstrate basic numeracy skills required for the post

Desirable

  • Level 2 diploma in Health and social Care
  • Demonstrate literacy in IT
  • Previous experinece of working with the public

Experience and Acheivements

Essential

  • No previous experience required

Desirable

  • Experience in a hospital setting, Experience in a care setting
  • Previous experience of dealing with the public
