You will be joining a team of dedicated professionals who you will learn from on the job, we provide training to ensure you have the skills for the role and offer development opportunities to realise your career potential.
You will be enrolled onto a health care support worker induction programme held each month, ensuring you feel supported as you take the first steps into your new career.
Shift patterns on Day Surgery are: 07;00 to 20:30, Monday to Friday (no weekends).

Education, Qualification & Training
Desirable: - Care Certificate in healthcare (Level 3); - Willing to work towards Level 2 functional skills (Math & English)
Experience
Essential: - Understands nature of the HCSW role and responsibilities
Desirable: - Previous experience in a health care setting; - Evidence of working in a busy environment; - Experience in a customer focused environment
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
Essential
- Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
- Ability to use a computer
- Ability to communicate in English clearly and concisely with patients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team
- Understands concept of Confidentiality and standards of conduct and care
- Courteous with patients and others both internal and external
Special Circumstances
Essential: - Ability to work agreed shift patterns designed to meet service needs.
