If successful you will be expected
- To assist with basic nursing care, e.g. washing, moving and handling, mouth care, eye care, testing urine, assisting in pressure area care and generally attending to patient comfort.
- To assist with transferring patients to the ward on discharge.
- To clean and prepare bed area for new admissions
- To damp dust equipment and bed area daily. Clearing unused equipment.
- To clean and check equipment daily.
- To be aware of and implement the Trust's procedures and protocols on the following: - Moving and Handling
- Barrier Nursing
- Cross Infection
- Cardiac Arrest
- Fire
- Major Incident
- Dealing with patients' property
- Dealing with Violence and Aggression
- Incident Reporting
- Any other relevant procedures and protocols.

Skills
Essential
- Good standard of literacy, demonstrated through minimal mistakes on application form
Desirable
- Willing to undertake the Advanced Diploma Apprenticeship in Health (Clinical Healthcare support or Perioperative support for theatres).
- NVQ 2 in care
Experience
Essential
- Experience working with the public
Desirable
- Experience of working in a healthcare environment
- Experience of dealing with wounds and dressings
