Provide operational and staff management for the dietetic teams including recruitment and selection, appraisals and performance monitoring.

Provide professional leadership for the department, act as a subject matter expert for the Trust in various Trust Steering Groups, Complex Patient Panels or Committees and be responsible for policy and service transformation and improvement.

Be accountable for the delivery of high quality services to planned objectives within the resources available.

Account for and manage the financial and physical resources delegated to the post in collaboration with the General Manager.

Contribute to leading on clinical effectiveness or other aspects of service management in the Dietetic service across the Trust.

Work collaboratively with the senior leadership team to provide evidence and describe the opportunities for Dietetics and/ or nutrition to support improved patient outcomes or pathway efficiencies.

Lead the provision of dietetic service to a designated clinical area using advanced skills and knowledge as an independent practitioner, and work with the health care colleagues for the service as a whole.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc or equivalent in Dietetics
  • HCPC registered
  • Higher level qualification at Masters level or equivalent experience and CPD/PDP Portfolio

Desirable

  • Experience and/or understanding of the wider Health Economy

Experience

Essential

  • Post registration at a senior leadership level
  • Post graduate experience within specialist clinical area

Desirable

  • Extended scope practice skills

Skills

Essential

  • Demonstrate holistic and strategic knowledge of specialist clinical area.
  • Deep and broad knowledge of all practises within profession/service area.
  • Knowledge and understanding of service/profession and organisational links, systems and structures.

Desirable

  • Experience in a Lead role or managerial responsibility
