This is a senior leadership role which will provide strategic leadership, professional expertise and operational oversight across the Charity's patient safety, safeguarding and public protection agenda.
You will ensure robust governance, systems and processes are in place to support the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality care, and ensure the Charity meets its statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations in relation to patient safety, safeguarding adults and children, and public protection.
Working closely with the Chief Nurse and other senior leaders, you will lead the development and implementation of patient safety and safeguarding strategies, promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement, and ensure effective systems are in place to identify, respond to and learn from incidents, safeguarding concerns and quality issues.
You will act as the organisation's lead expert for patient safety and safeguarding, providing specialist advice, assurance and leadership across all services and representing the Charity with regulators, commissioners, local authorities and wider system partners.

Qualifications
Essential
- You will have significant leadership experience of working in patient safety, safeguarding, quality or governance and of leading organisational change and service improvement. You will bring extensive knowledge of patient safety, quality improvement, safeguarding and public protection legislation.
- With a Master's degree or equivalent level experience, you also will hold a relevant professional registration with NMC, HCPC, Social Work England or equivalent relevant professional body.
- You will bring experience of implementing national safety and quality frameworks, including PSIRF, and of safeguarding leadership within health or social care settings.
- Accustomed to working with regulators, commissioners and external agencies, you will have excellent communication skills and a proven ability to influence and lead across organisational boundaries.
- You will also be a role model for the St Andrews CARE values and the pillars of our Leadership Commitment including compassionate, person-centred care.
