As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll ensure we provide a clean and well-maintained environment, helping residents feel at home and allowing staff to perform their duties effectively. Your role entails a variety of tasks within the care home building as well as the gardens and grounds. Responsibilities include fixing issues like leaky taps and planting bulbs, working independently, leading a team, and assisting in annual budget planning with the General Manager. You will also liaise with contractors for work beyond your team's expertise. This role requires hands-on experience in property maintenance, at least one trade skill, the ability to perform diverse maintenance tasks, reliability, and flexibility in working hours. You must hold a full UK driving licence, have IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent). You can expect plenty of variety as a Head of Maintenance with us. You'll turn your hand to all sorts of tasks within the care home building as well as in the gardens and grounds. That could mean fixing a leaky tap one minute and planting some new bulbs the next. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. We'll also need you to liaise with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of your team.

ABOUT YOUThe wellbeing of our residents will be your number one priority as a Head of Maintenance at Barchester you'll make sure all work is carried out with sensitivity to their needs. With hands-on experience of property maintenance, you'll have at least one trade skill and, ideally, a proven ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks. You should be reliable and flexible when it comes to your working hours. This role also calls for a full UK driving licence, IT literacy and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
