Determine
opportunities for new products and services based upon market analysis
Work with
Finance and Business intelligence to ensure commercial decisions are based on
sound information
Work with
the tenders team to define the scope, value and themes within each tender.
Develop
commercial pricing strategies specific to each tender based upon the strategic
growth plan.
Work to
maximise profitability within services through product use, product pricing,
and increased product revenue
Expansion of
sales within the wider areas of contracted Trusts
Monitor
contract durations and then use opportunities to increase prices and extend
contracts.
Develop cost
effectiveness strategies for Trusts in response to cost improvement plans.
Develop
strategies to win new business within current markets and the exploration of
new markets
Provide
business plans to meet growth targets
Develop
relationships with suppliers to scope new opportunities and ensure Steeper
receive best value in pricing.
Oversee
supplier performance and ensure compliance to contracted obligations
Lead in
negotiations to maximise rebate opportunities
Analysis
Develop reporting for analysis of trends, and
develop plans in response
Develop an understanding of market trends through
relationships and networking.
Determine opportunities for new products and

Tenders
Work with the tenders team to define the scope,
value and themes within each tender.
Develop commercial pricing strategies specific
to each tender based upon the strategic growth plan.
Contribute to the development of central themes
within tender submissions to enhance individual tender responses
Lead in post contract award negotiations and
ensure contracts meet commercial goals
Contracts
Work to maximise profitability within services
through product use, product pricing, and increased product revenue
Expansion of sales within the wider areas of contracted
Trusts
Monitor contract durations and then use
opportunities to increase prices and extend contracts.
Develop cost effectiveness strategies for
Trusts in response to cost improvement plans.
Ensure price files are accurate and in line
with contractual obligations
Monitor customer discounts and rebates
Develop extension proposals for existing
contracts
New Business
Develop strategies to win new business within
current markets and the exploration of new markets
Provide business plans to meet growth targets
Develop relationships across the industry to
maximise opportunities
Develop marketing plans for both products and
services to ensure growth plans are met.
Source new and innovative technologies and
products to enhance Steeper services and offer new opportunities.
Supplier management
Develop relationships with suppliers to scope
new opportunities and ensure Steeper receive best value in pricing.
Oversee supplier performance and ensure
compliance to contracted obligations

largest provider of Prosthetics and Orthotics globally. We currently have an exciting opportunity
within Steeper Services for a Head of Commercial Development, to
support and drive sustainable growth across both established and new markets within
the UK.
Experience
Essential
- Proven experience in a commercial leadership role within medical devices, healthcare technology, prosthetics/orthotics, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated success in developing and delivering commercial growth strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial and analytical capability, with the ability to interpret market and financial data to inform strategic decisions.
- A proactive, collaborative, and commercially driven mindset.
Desirable
- Experience of working within prosthetic or orthotic manufacturing.
- A Strong understanding of procurement and contracting within the NHS
- Supplier negotiation experience
- A background in working with clinical teams or rehabilitation services.
