Regulatory Compliance and Assurance e.g. Care Quality Commission Regulations

Support the Chief Nurse and Chief Medical Officer with maintaining CQC registration by leading on a set of agreed regulations pertaining to provider registration.

Be responsible for the continuous design and implementation of the Trust Quality Assurance Framework which is the vehicle for corporate assurance that the regulations are met.

Be a source of Trust wide advice and expertise to all stakeholders.

Mortality and Patient Outcomes

Acting in support of the role of Trust Clinical Mortality Lead and develop and monitor all associated governance processes to provide Site Leadership Team level assurance that there is an opportunity to learn from a consistent approach to Mortality Reviews.

Clinical Effectiveness and Audit

This role is to lead, develop and promote clinical effectiveness and audit systems and processes across the trust which will include line managing the Clinical effectiveness and audit teamTo lead on specific Compliance, Quality Improvement and Clinical Effectiveness Projects under the direction of the Chief Nurse, Chief Medical Officer and/or Site Leadership Team Directors. Such projects may be linked to local quality priorities, national priorities or from analysis of themes and trends. This will include Trust-wide implementation.

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • First degree level qualification or relevant experience
  • Post graduate qualification in quality improvement or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Masters degree in a related subject/equivalent experience or a willingness to work towards

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Significant senior experience in NHS/health service/social care quality governance, compliance or clinical effectiveness.
  • Experience leading CQC preparation and regulatory assurance with proven experience of being able to advise on how to demonstrate compliance at all levels.
  • Experience managing clinical audit, improvement and governance programmes, with the ability to interpret and analyse complex information and data sets data sets
  • Audit methodology and quality improvement techniques. NHS governance and risk management processes

Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Demonstrates proven strategic leadership skills with deliverable outcomes relating to assurance and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrates effective report writing and presentation.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with clinicians, site leadership team and executives.
  • Demonstrates highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
