Main Duties and Responsibilities
As a Receptionist/Administrator, you duties will include:
- Welcome patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and deal with patient enquiries efficiently.
- Book, amend and cancel appointments using the practice clinical system.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Scan, file and maintain accurate electronic patient records.
- Liaise with GPs, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
- Handle confidential patient information in accordance with GDPR and NHS requirements.
- Support a variety of administrative functions within the practice.

- Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Is confident using computer systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Can remain calm and professional when working in a busy environment.
- Has strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy.
- Works well both independently and as part of a team.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality.
- Can provide flexibility to cover additional hours for colleague leave and absence.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a GP practice, NHS, healthcare or reception setting.
- Experience using EMIS Web or other clinical systems.
- Knowledge of NHS primary care services.
- Experience handling confidential information.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and compassionate Receptionist/Administrator to join our dedicated team.
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines front-line patient contact with administrative support. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our patients receive an excellent service while supporting the smooth running of the practice.
Job Types: Permanent, Part-time
Pay: £13.33 per hour
Expected hours: 18 hours per week
