As a Facilities Service Assistant, you will support the day-to-day running of hospital facilities services. Depending on service needs, your duties may include housekeeping, cleaning, catering and portering activities.
You will work as part of a dedicated facilities team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, food hygiene and customer service are maintained throughout the hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out cleaning duties across wards, patient rooms, bathrooms, offices, kitchens and communal areas.
- Support the delivery of meals, snacks and beverages to patients.
- Maintain safe and hygienic environments in line with infection prevention standards.
- Handle waste and linen safely and appropriately.
- Complete cleaning schedules, monitoring forms and departmental records.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and report any faults or maintenance issues.
- Maintain stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
- Respond professionally and courteously to patients, visitors and colleagues.
- Support apprentices and new team members where required.
- Work flexibly to support service needs across hospital sites.
