The Electronic Prescribing Support Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for supporting the development, configuration, testing, and ongoing management of the Electronic Prescribing (EP) System for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT). Working under the supervision of the Advanced Oncology Pharmacist Electronic Prescribing, you will support the ongoing management of the EP system. You will act as a point of contact to help resolve system queries and contribute to the delivery of training programs for pharmacy and clinical staff.

Qualifications/Training

Essential

  • NVQ3 or BTEC Cert. In Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
  • Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council as a pharmacy technician

Desirable

  • Accredited Checking Technician (ACT)
  • Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician

Knowledge

Essential

  • Computer and IT literate
  • Competency in use of spreadsheets and large database
  • Preparation of written reports and procedures

Desirable

  • Writing and maintaining SOPS, reports and performing audits

Skills

Essential

  • Good team player - able to work alone and supervise others when necessary
  • Able to use initiative
  • Assertive
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Good organisation skills
  • Able to work under pressure

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Experience in Pharmacy services

Desirable

  • Experience in using Wellsky dispensing system
  • Previous experience in working in oncology
  • Previous experience in working experience with electronic prescribing system
  • Experience as a trainer
