EDU Technician

Support the delivery of a high-quality decontamination service that meets national standards, Trust policies, and regulatory requirements.

Ensure compliance with HTM 01-06, infection prevention and control standards, and local decontamination procedures.

Participate in quality assurance programmes, audits, and accreditation processes to maintain service standards.

Maintain accurate and complete records to ensure full traceability of endoscopes and associated equipment.

Report incidents, near misses, equipment faults, and non-conformities in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.

Assist in the investigation of incidents and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and service development projects within the Endoscopy Decontamination Unit.

Support the monitoring and review of key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics.

Participate in competency assessments, training programmes, and mandatory updates to maintain professional standards.

Promote a culture of patient safety, continuous learning, and continuous improvement.

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, COSHH requirements, and Trust policies.

Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and local working practices.
