As a Senior Project Manager, you will be expected to inspire and motivate staff utilising excellent leadership and communication skills.

You will be accountable for all project management governance tasks, keeping all key project documentation up to date, working within tolerance and utilising Prince 2 methodology with an Agile mindset throughout delivery. You can work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and use an iterative method and flexible approach to enable rapid delivery. You will drive projects forward to achieve expected outcomes, ensuring all work is managed against organisational priorities and aligned to the strategic objectives of the Trust.

You will be expected to adhere to our standardised approach to producing project documentation, supporting governance and engagement activities, and working collaboratively to enhance and develop ways of working.

A major part of this role is resource planning within your direct project team working closely with Service Leads across the organisation to gain commitment to delivery. You will be expected to provide visibility of project work to the organisation, working in an open and transparent way, creating a culture of sharing and reflective learning ensuring continuous improvement.

Education, Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent qualifications plus relevant specialist knowledge, backed up by practical experience
  • PRINCE2 practitioner or equivalent project management qualification

Desirable

  • Relevant qualifications or study e.g., Agile, ITIL etc.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience of project managing all aspects of the project lifecycle including writing business cases, navigating the procurement process through to implementing solutions and establishing business as usual
  • Business Change knowledge and experience
  • Working knowledge of IT industry
  • Experience of project management on major projects
  • Experience of managing multi-agency projects
  • Experience of managing service design
  • Proven experience of managing a team of staff
  • Experience of preparing and managing project budgets
  • Experience of preparing and managing project resource plans
  • Experience of issuing and analysing complex data including reports, audits and surveys for projects
  • Experience of benefits identification and benefits management
  • Experience of managing major clinical or business change
  • Proven team working
  • Proven supervisory skills
  • Demonstratable experience of working in the NHS or health sector in a project manager capacity
  • Knowledge of NHS clinical systems

Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Expert use of Microsoft Office applications, including MS- Project. MS-Excel and Internet Explorer
  • IT, Audio and visual equipment literate
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels with a wide range of individuals and within groups
  • Confident and an ability to motivate and inspire confidence in others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and equally effective as part of or directing a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to think innovatively and develop new ways of working, continuously striving to improve services, systems, and performance.
  • Negotiates and influences effectively with internal and external contacts.
  • Flexible to meet the needs of the service and adaptable.
  • Able to plan and prioritise project workstreams in order to meet deadlines and deal effectively with conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to analyse a range of facts and situations, coupled with the ability to assess and compare options where required. Able to analyse complex situations and take rational decisions/actions, based on information available
