Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Home Location: Thornton Heath, Croydon Salary: £42,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications) Hours: Full-time, rota-based, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and participation in the on-call rota. The Role Our client is looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in leading a children's residential home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people. You'll play a key role in the day-to-day management of the home, supporting staff, maintaining high-quality care standards and helping create a safe, stable and nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities

Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day leadership of the home.Lead shifts, supervise staff and promote a positive team culture.Ensure the home remains compliant with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Quality Standards.Oversee care planning, key working and support plans to achieve positive outcomes.Promote safeguarding, manage incidents appropriately and support multi-agency working.Monitor records, audits and quality assurance processes to ensure continuous improvement.Assist with Ofsted inspections, action plans and maintaining inspection readiness.Support recruitment, staff development, supervision and performance management.Participate in the management on-call rota and provide leadership cover when required. About You You'll be a confident and supportive leader with experience within children's residential care and a passion for delivering outstanding care. Essential Requirements

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).Previous experience within an Ofsted-regulated children's residential setting.Experience supervising or leading teams within residential childcare.Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.Full UK Driving Licence.Flexible to work a rota, including weekends, bank holidays and on-call duties.
