To support the work of the dental team by providing dental nursing skills. Clinical administration including General Dental Service paperwork and cash...

The post holder will be administratively responsible to the Senior Dental Nurse and ultimately accountable to the Clinical Director for North Wales Community Dental Service. The Dental Nurse will be clinically responsible to the Clinician to whom he/she is assigned.

The post holder will be required to travel within the North Wales Community Dental Service locality, for example clinics, hospitals, schools, domiciliary visits, mobile dental units and to carry out treatment at other sites, for example, nursing homes. Travel expenses will be paid.

To support the work of the dental team by providing dental nursing skills.

Clinical administration to the base clinic and other locations as required.

Experience

Essential

  • Recent or current dental surgery experience
  • Assisting in the treatment of children, and anxious patients both children and adults

Desirable

  • CDS experience
  • Experience with child and adult special care patients (including the elderly)
  • Dental Health Promotion
  • Outworking in a Mobile Dental Unit or on Domiciliary visits
  • Stock control and ordering

Qualifications

Essential

  • Certificate in Dental Nursing or equivalent NVQ
  • Proven maintenance of post-basic training
  • Evidence of CPD
  • National Registration

Desirable

  • Post-basic certificate in any of the following:
  • Sedation
  • Special Care
  • Radiography
  • Oral Health
  • Orthodontics
