This post covers all aspects of a Consultant's professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities.
The post-holder will be part of a team of Ophthalmology Consultants
The post-holder will be expected to provide a range of Ophthalmology Services but specialise in Medical Retina
The post-holder will attend the Ophthalmology clinical governance and business meetings.
A commitment to the Trust's clinical governance and risk strategy is mandatory.
Any other duties necessary for the successful performance of the role, commensurate with the grade.

Experience
Essential
- Evidence of completing an approved period of training / sub specialist clinical experience in Medical Retina.
Qualifications
Essential
- MBChB or equivalent / MRCP or FRCS of equivalent to specialty (UK) or equivalent / Member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK) or equivalent / CCT or within 6 months of AAC date / On Specialist Register with GMC and continue to hold a licence to practice
