The role will involve providing

comprehensive hip and knee orthopaedic services for NHS patients referred to

One Health.

Key responsibilities include

Delivering outpatient assessment, diagnosis and

management of hip and knee conditions.

Undertaking elective hip and knee surgical

procedures in line with national standards, best practice and agreed clinical

pathways.

Providing pre and post-operative follow-up care.

Working collaboratively with anaesthetic,

nursing and wider multidisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of patient

care.

Supporting the development and expansion of

orthopaedic services within One Health.

Maintaining accurate clinical records and

documentation.

Producing high-quality clinic letters, operative

notes and patient reports.

Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings

and clinical case discussions.

Ensuring compliance with GMC standards, clinical

governance requirements and relevant regulatory frameworks.

Contributing to audit, quality improvement

initiatives and service evaluation activities.

Supervising and supporting clinical colleagues

where appropriate.

Participating in the appraisal and revalidation

process.

Promoting a culture of patient safety, clinical

excellence and continuous improvement.

One Health is seeking an

experienced Consultant Hip & Knee Orthopaedic Surgeon to join its surgical

team at the One Health Elective Surgery Hub North Lincolnshire.

The successful candidate will

provide high-quality orthopaedic assessment, treatment and follow-up care for

NHS patients requiring hip and knee procedures, contributing to excellent

clinical outcomes and patient experience. The role offers an opportunity to

become an integral part of a growing service, working within a dedicated

elective surgical environment supported by experienced clinical, operational

and administrative teams.

The post holder will contribute

to service development, quality improvement and clinical governance activities,

helping to ensure that One Health continues to deliver safe, effective and

patient-centred care across the region.

Position: Consultant Hip & Knee Orthopaedic

Surgeon

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

Location: One Health Elective Surgery Hub North

Lincolnshire, Warren Road, Scunthorpe, DN15 6XH

Salary: NHS Consultant Salary Scale, depending

on experience

Annual Leave: In accordance with NHS terms and

conditions

Pension: NHS Pension Scheme eligibility subject

to applicable arrangements

facility, supporting timely access to treatment and excellent patient experiences.

Experience

Essential

  • Full GMC registration and Specialist Register status in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery.
  • FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) or equivalent.
  • 12 months+ experience as a substantive or locum NHS Consultant.
  • Proven experience in hip and knee surgery within NHS and/or independent practice.
  • Excellent clinical, communication and team-working skills.

Desirable

  • Fellowship training in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty and/or Lower Limb Reconstruction.
  • Experience developing orthopaedic services.
