  • Promotes a 'can do' attitude and determination to develop and sustain a dynamic and responsive clinical and administrative support service within a Community Team setting which delivers best practice.
  • To deal appropriately with interruptions, unpredictable events and behaviours.
  • To organise and deliver skilled clinical support work / phlebotomy without direct supervision.
  • Gain valid informed consent and work within legal frameworks with patients.
  • To liaise with nursing and therapists with regard to patient care, highlighting any variations to expected outcomes from agreed treatment programmes.
  • To provide basic verbal and written clinical reports to the supervising Nurse and / or therapist and to document patient interventions/findings in patient records in line with Trust Record Keeping Policy.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Phlebotomy skills

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a health care setting and /or delivering phlebotomy

Knowledge

Essential

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Understanding of clinical governance
  • Understanding of risk management ability
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Evidence of evaluating clinical practice
  • Experience of using IT in clinical practice
